2nd Station of the Rose Cross - The Last Supper

Inspired by a passage from "The Hymn of Jesus," taken from the Gnostic Acts of John which dates from the early 2nd century, believed to have occurred after the Lord's Supper, before the crucifixion. Alternate lines from the Sayings of Mary Magdalene are included to join the Bride and Bridegroom in the Divine Union.

[Jesus said] "Before I am delivered up unto them let us sing an hymn to the Father, and so go forth to that which lieth before us. He bade us therefore make as it were a ring, holding one another's hands, and himself standing in the midst he said: 'Answer Amen unto me.' He began, then, to sing an hymn and to say: 'Glory be to thee, Father.' And we, going about in a ring, answered him: 'Amen.'"

The words we sing in this chant are drawn from one of the better known verses: “I am a lamp to you who see me; I am a mirror to you who perceive me; I am a door to you who knock on me; I am a way to you, you passer by.” We alternate two of these lines with words drawn from Mary Magdalene’s sayings, as noted.
